Gutter Cleaning Frequently Asked Questions

Every day Twin Cities homeowners just like you call with questions about our gutter cleaning services. Most of these people have never used a professional gutter cleanout service before, but we are glad they call, and happy to now call them our customers.

How much does it cost to have the gunk cleaned out of my gutters?

We give custom quotes to every customer because there are many variables that play into the price, and the number one variable is time required. A Two-story home with a walkout basement takes a lot longer to clean than a townhouse or one level rambler and thus costs a bit more. But…we know you want to see some $ figures so that you can make an informed decision.

Here are a couple examples:

A 1 ½ Story home in Robbinsdale typically costs $135

A 2 Story home with a Walk-Out basement typically costs $185

A 1 Story Rambler in Mounds view typically costs $140

For your FREE custom quote, simply text or email a photo of your home (front and back) and we’ll give you an accurate price. In the end, it is a lot cheaper to have your gutters cleaned than to neglect them which could lead to; water intrusion, foundation damage, and ice dams.

Do I need to take time off of work for the gutter cleaning?

To tell you the truth, I have not met most of our gutter cleaning customers face-to-face. One thing that people like about our service is that they can go about their life and save their vacation days at work for more important things than having the gutters cleaned. It is not necessary that anyone be home during the time of the cleaning. Really all that we need to accomplish the job is to have the water spigots on/functional. We even bring our own hoses and clean up the mess. Several customers have said on our Angie’s List page “the only way I knew they were here was from the card in the front door, and the small trees were no longer in my gutters.” We take pride in being a home service provider that people can trust.

How are the gutters cleaned?

To be honest with you, there is no fancy process or cool gutter robot (although someday I hope to come up with one J). We use good old fashion manual cleaning. We have an assortment of ladders that allow us to access roofs of most heights. All of our ladders are equipped with stabilizer bars which make safely distribute the weight of the ladder to the surface. Once up there, we collect (in a bucket) the leaves, stick, pine needles and all other obstructions from the gutters. Next, using a garden hose we spray any remaining debris, and flush the downspouts. This process leaves the gutters free-flowing and functioning the way they were intended to.

How frequently should I have my gutters cleaned?

Similar to the question about cost, the answer depends based on the home. Some houses are surrounded with large trees that drop significant amounts of leaves in the fall, and seedlings in the spring. Other homes (normally in newer suburbs) have very few mature trees that are tall enough to drop leaves into the gutters so they seldom become clogged. I’d be happy to discuss your needs and develop a maintenance program that is both proactive and budget friendly. You wouldn’t wait until your car engine ceased up to think about changing the oil, so don’t wait until your gutters are pouring over next rain fall to have your gutters cleaned.

Who will be working on cleaning my home’s gutters?

As a local Veteran Owned business (we’re not a franchise), our cleaners are comprised primarily of fellow Veterans. I like working with Veterans because I find that they are; Competent, Hard Working, and Trustworthy. And as a small business the Owner is on site a majority of the time. How late in the season can my gutters be cleaned?

One of our biggest challenges as a Home Service company is working around weather conditions. Rain puts a halt to cleaning windows, and freezing temps put a stop to gutter cleaning. We’re able to clean gutters until temperatures drop below freezing and the wet debris becomes a solid block of ice. At that point it becomes laborious and not cost effective to clean. Plus at that time of year the phone starts ringing for our winter service, Ice Dam Removal. 9 times out of 10 those Ice Dam customers are ones that didn’t think to have their gutters cleaned in the Fall before it snowed. So call, text or email NOW to schedule your gutter cleaning!
